New Delhi: The Lucknow Cantt seat has become a headache for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi is seeking a ticket from this seat for her son, there is talk of Aparna Yadav, the younger daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party (SP) patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, who recently joined the party.
At the same time, the sitting MLA of the BJP, Suresh Chandra Tiwari, has also made it clear that he wants to contest from this seat once again. He also claimed that the son of Aparna Yadav and Rita Bahuguna Joshi will not be given tickets. Talking to the media, Suresh Chandra Tiwari said that the party leadership has already made it clear that the son and daughter of a sitting MLA or MP will not get tickets. So there is no question of Joshi's son getting a ticket.
On Aparna Yadav's candidature, he said Mulayam's daughter-in-law will not get a ticket from any seat and the party will use her for campaigning across the state. "I have once again expressed my desire to contest from this seat on a BJP ticket. I think I'll get the ticket. Suresh Chandra has been an MLA from this seat four times and has been associated with the BJP for decades.
