Lucknow: Police have arrested two persons for smuggling fake drugs and drugs in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. Police have recovered a large quantity of spurious drugs worth over Rs 2 crore from the men. They used to use medicines without medical degrees and deliver stock of medicines through buses in various districts of the state.

A joint team from Kanpur and Lucknow has conducted raids and seized spurious drugs. According to reports, a team from Kanpur and lucknow police station team raided the medicine market late in the night at Thana Aminabad. In which 2 smugglers were arrested. A large quantity of spurious drugs have been seized from them. Drug traffickers used to make and supply duplicate medicines for medicines that were in demand. According to the information received, these medicines were made in states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and were supplied to various districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to Kanpur Commissioner Asim Arun, "Police have arrested Jagaipurwa resident Pintu Gupta and Asif Mohammad Khan of Baconganj near tempo stand in Dabauli area. 17,770 nitravet-10 bullets and 48,000 Zifi-200 bullets were seized from their possession. Both have not got a drug license. In the interrogation, the accused said that Pintu used to take these medicines from Lucknow and load them in roadways buses. A picture of the bus and number plate was taken on the mobile and sent to Asif Mohammad through WhatsApp". It also had the conductor's name and mobile number. Apart from Lucknow to Kanpur, fake and drug supplies were also being supplied to Bahraich, Gonda and Barabanki districts.
