For the proposal to conduct the multiple choice questions (MCQ) based examination in additional semesters of BSc courses in Lucknow University from the new academic session was put up in a meeting of heads of science departments on Friday.

When the proposal got opposed, the faculty board meeting scheduled on Saturday was postponed and will now be held on April 3.

As per the proposal, the first and third semesters will have MCQ-based examination while second and fourth semesters will have a theory and practical examination. 

The fifth semester will be MCQ based and the final semester will be theory-based. "Science without practical in every semester and MCQ will deteriorate the quality of education at BSc level," said a department head.
