No new coronavirus case has been detected out in Ludhiana on Tuesday. Around 9,000 tests were conducted out of which no case turned to be positive. This has come as a sigh of relief for the people of Ludhiana as zero positive cases after a span of 15 months.

The district administration stated, "This has been possible with the cooperation of the people and we request the people to follow the guidelines of Corona given by the government so that we can avoid the coming third wave of Corona." Out of the population of 4500000 in Ludhiana, approximately 18 lakh people have been vaccinated so far. In this, about 30 lakh people are yet to be jabbed, added the district administration. Meanwhile, India on Wednesday saw a massive jump in the daily caseload. The data issued today says that 37593 new cases have been registered across the country in the last 24 hours.

In comparison with yesterday's data report, this translates into a sharp spike of 47.16 percent. The Covid fatalities have also raised, in the last 24 hours, 648 people succumbed to Covid-related ailments in India. The day-on-day analysis shows a huge rise of 83 percent in terms of Covid deaths. As per the government data, 322327 active cases have been detected in the country.
