USA; Apple unveiled the new Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra, the most recent top-of-the-line chipset from the company, at WWDC 2023. Pre-orders for the new Mac Pro, which has a starting price of $6,999 (Rs. 7,29,900), will be accepted beginning on June 13 and will be delivered worldwide.

The Mac Pro provides performance at its pinnacle thanks to the potent chip and a sizable selection of ports of the newest generation on board.

Apple has successfully switched the Mac lineup from Intel chipsets to Apple Silicon with the release of the most recent Mac Pro. At the 2020 keynote event, Apple first unveiled the M1 chip, which started the process.

The new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra offers an astounding fusion of performance and PCIe expansion for workloads that are resource-intensive. Additionally, the same chipset is included with each configuration.

With a metal front resembling a cheese grater and a sound-deadening thermal system, the new Mac Pro maintains the appearance of its older Intel-based sibling. On the inside, there have been significant changes. It receives seven PCIe slots, making it the first Apple Silicon Mac with post-purchase expansion and upgradeability. Similar to the previous model, the device can be configured in tower or rack-mounted designs.

The new Mac Pro settles for Apple's M2 Ultra system-on-a-chip, as was previously mentioned. Eight Thunderbolt 4 ports allow up to six Pro Displays XDR to be connected at once. Two USB-A ports, two HDMI ports with high bandwidth (supporting up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates), two 10GB ethernet ports, and a headphone jack are all included on the device. Furthermore, Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E are supported.

Apple's UltraFusion technology was used to combine two M2 Max chipsets to create the M2 Ultra, a second-generation 5nm-based chip. It has a 24-core CPU, which is 1.8 times faster than the 28-core Mac Pro built on Intel. Additionally, there is an 800GB/s memory bandwidth, a 32-core Neural Engine, and a GPU with up to 76 cores. The chip can accommodate an astounding 192GB of memory. Around 22 streams of 8K ProRes videos can be played simultaneously by its Media Engine.
