Gupta Navratri is going on at this time. Today is the third day of Gupta Navratri. Tripura Sundari is worshipped on the third day. Today we are going to tell you the story of Tripura Sundari.

Story of Tripura Sundari - Sati, daughter of King Daksha Prajapati, wanted to marry Lord Shiva, but Daksha did not approve, yet Sati married Lord Shiva. Once King Daksha performed a Yagya, invited Brahma, Vishnu, Indra and all other deities, but deliberately did not call his son-in-law Lord Shiva, Sati considered it an insult to Lord Shiva. Sati asked her father Daksha the reason for not inviting Shiva, on which Daksha Prajapati uttered bad words for Lord Shiva, saddened by this insult, Sati jumped into the Yagya-Agni Kund and gave her life, When Lord Shiva came to know of this accident, his third eye opened with anger.

Angry and hurt Lord Shiva took out the body of Sati from the Yagya Kunda and lifted it on his shoulder and walked away from there. To save the universe from the anger of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu with his Sudarshan Chakra divided Sati's body into 51 parts. These 51 parts later came to be known as Shaktipeeths. This Shaktipeeth of Tripura Sundari is also considered to be one of those 51 parts. The part of the vagina of Sati's body fell at this place and which is why the oldest photographs depict the mother in her puberty. Only after Sati's vagina fell at this place, this place was counted among other Shaktipeeths.
