Budapest: The discussion between visiting French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries in Budapest focused on immigration, rule of law, the Western Balkans, and energy, notably nuclear energy.

"We talked about migration, the rule of law, the Western Balkans, and energy, particularly nuclear energy and its ETS (Emissions Trading System) energy billing system," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said following the meeting on Monday.

Macron is said to have arrived in Budapest on Monday. Earlier in the day, Orban had a bilateral discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron. "On patriotism, the strengthening of Europe, and European strategic autonomy, we will agree with President Macron," the Hungarian Prime Minister remarked.

Hungary will take over the V4 Group's current leadership, which includes Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. "Hungary was the only country that indicated that if necessary, the EU border should be secured with force, protecting not only Hungary but the entire continent," Orban added.

Orban,Macron agree to disagree, refer to one other as partners.
