Today means November 12 is the death anniversary of the founder of Banaras Hindu University and Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. He died in Varanasi. On this occasion, people from all over the country are paying humble tributes to Madan Mohan Malviya. Significantly, Madan Mohan Malaviya was a great freedom fighter, social reformer, journalist and advocate.

By establishing the Kashi Hindu University, he strengthened the sentiments of nationalism among the youth. His life inspires us to remain dedicated to the service of the nation.'' Let me tell you that Madan Mohan Malaviya, known as Mahamana, did a lot of work for the upliftment of Dalits. He was opposed to casteism. He took the last breath a year before independence, on November 12, 1946. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2014.
