This week, Jeep will debut an upgraded version of its Grand Cherokee SUV. The Grand Cherokee 2021 model will be shown on Wednesday, according to the American automaker (September 29).

The next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, which will be the model's fifth generation, is expected to be the automaker's greatest offering in terms of off-road performance to date. What's more intriguing is that Jeep will also offer a plug-in hybrid version of the Grand Cherokee, which will be the company's first.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L was debuted in the United States in January of this year. To a large extent, the new generation Grand Cherokee will be based on that model's design. There might be minor variations in the wheelbases available for the Grand Cherokee L. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to have a five-seat configuration with two rows of seats. A huge 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and an even larger 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster are anticipated to dominate the dashboard.

The next Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to be driven by a Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine with 290 horsepower and 352 Nm of peak torque, as well as a 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine with 357 horsepower and 529 Nm of torque. The engines will most likely be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Cherokee L has the same engine options as the Grand Cherokee. The 4xe plug-in hybrid version is expected to have the same powertrain as the Wrangler 4xe, which has a peak torque of 637 Nm and a 375 horsepower output.

Jeep has been spotted in India testing a three-row SUV, which is said to be the Commander. Grand Cherokee, on the other hand, may take a little longer to reach Indian beaches. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is anticipated to arrive in Indian markets in 2022, according to sources. Like the Wrangler, Jeep is likely to import the Grand Cherokee as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicle, which means it may be built locally in India.
