In Madhya Pradesh, this year's assembly elections are going to be held. Earlier, the Election Commission has issued a draft of the state's voters, in which a large number of voters were reported. In fact, in the last seven months, the Election Commission has removed the names of 24 lakh fake voters, who have never voted or shifted to another place or have died. This is the first time in the state that names of such a large number of voters have been removed.

11 lakh 40 thousand new voters have been added in the state's electoral roll this time, which has resulted in the total number of voters in the state of 4 crores 94 lakh 42 thousand. This list includes the names of voters added till June 30. 

According to the draft issued by the Election Commission, in the last five years, only 28 lakh voters have increased. The total number of voters in the voter list released in 2013 was 466.6 million, while this time the total number of voters is 4.94 million 42 thousand. In the opinion of the voters added in the electoral roll between 2008 and 2013, a total of 14.5 million new names were added. It is currently under investigation. 

This time, on the instructions of the Election Commission, the list of names and new names removed from the state's electoral roll has also been handed over to political parties. This is the first time that a list of voters has been submitted to political parties. It has been given 22 days time. If before it claims any objections, it will be resolved and published in the electoral rolls issued on September 27.

 

On January 1, 2018, after the implementation of the Joint Code of Conduct, which has completed the age of 18 years, the names of voters will be added to 10 days before enrollment. Such voters will be considered eligible to cast votes in the assembly elections.
