Sagar: The body of a young man was found hanging on a tree on Friday at Jagal of Gadakota Road near Apchand Cave, an area in the vicinity of Sanaudha police station in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The corpse hanging on the snare looked five to seven days old. The negligence of the police on the spot came when the policemen poured water from the first compartments over the corpse without the presence of the FSL team and then lowered the body from the hanging trap.

As per the rule, the corpse cannot be tampered with without the presence of the FSL team. The police action is now being questioned. Police are also facing charges of tampering with the body. It may be mentioned that the case falls under IPC Section 201 and tampering with evidence. When the FSL team arrived on the spot, she too came back to see the body coming down. The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained. Some of the zombies got a lower lying away too.

Police officials on the spot say the case looks prima facie suicidal, but the murder cannot be directly ruled out.  This is probably the first case of putting water on the corpse in this way. Police officials have ordered an inquiry into the case.
