Bhopal: A Muslim woman was given triple talaq by her husband after a quarrel in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh. On giving information about the case, City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Alim Khan said that both the accused were arrested and produced in the court from where they have been taken to jail.

According to media reports, he said that the woman had alleged that her husband had given triple talaq on 23 November due to a mutual dispute. Later, the husband also tried to settle the matter with his wife. During this time, a Tantrik told the person that the woman needs to do halala, for which he agreed.

Police officer further said that after this, the accused Tantrik took the woman to a flat and raped her in the name of Halala. After this, the accused husband refused to keep his wife with him. The woman had lodged a complaint with the police regarding the case. He said that as per the Muslim Women Protection Act, action has been taken against the accused husband. A case has also been registered against the Tantrik.
