Bhopal: Today the Madhya Pradesh government has also passed the Love Jihad Act. Yes, today in the cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the freedom of religion ordinance has been approved. It is being said that it has now been sent to Governor Anandi Ben Patel for approval. It will become law as soon as it is approved from there.

Madhya Pradesh government was about to pass the Freedom of Religion Bill in the assembly session, but due to Corona infection, the assembly session was postponed. Because of this, the government has now brought the Religious Freedom Ordinance. It is said that this ordinance will have to be passed by the assembly within 6 months after getting approval from the governor. Let us also tell you that there are 19 provisions in the Freedom of Religion Ordinance.

What is the ordinance - According to this ordinance, in Madhya Pradesh, the person who commits conversion or attempt or conspiracy by inducement, intimidation, harassment, marriage or any other fraudulent means, imprisonment up to 5 years and fine 25,000 Shall not be less than Rs. Apart from this, in Madhya Pradesh, if the offence is committed with a minor/Scheduled Tribe woman/woman, then there is a provision for imprisonment up to 10 years and fine of Rs 50,000.

Let us also tell you that a person who collectively commits proselytisation in Madhya Pradesh will not be less than 10 years imprisonment and a fine of 1 lakh rupees. It is also being said that in Madhya Pradesh, the religious conversion will be declared void. Apart from this, a marriage done by a proselytising will also be considered void, but the child born after such marriage will be valid and will get rights in the property of his father. With this, such child and his mother will declare a marriage void, but still, children will be able to take care of their father.
