Bhopal: National Girl Child Day has been celebrated across the country yesterday. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has said last yesterday, "When I was an MLA, I started a marriage scheme for girls from poor families so that they do not understand our society burden. In the meantime, he launched the Pankh campaign. This scheme has been launched under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

Launching the scheme in capital Bhopal, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan briefed about the stand of the English words of Pankh. He said, "P-Suraksha, A-Awareness (awareness about the rights of girls), K- knowledge and H-health. All these essential things are included in the scheme so that girls at all levels can fight for their rights. The campaign will last for one year." Earlier, other leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have greeted the daughters of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a tweet.

In a tweet, he wrote, "Today is a day to appreciate all those who work towards empowering the girl child in particular and to ensure that they get respect and opportunity. BJP president JP Nadda tweeted and wrote, "The increase in enrolment of daughters in schools, improvement in sex ratio, is evident from the country's contribution in realizing the schemes being run for daughters. The Government is constantly striving and will always be committed to make #DeshKiBeti self-reliant. Best wishes to the daughters again!'
