Bhopal: There are many farmers who are sitting on the borders of the capital city against agricultural law. The farmers has the worst fear of ending MSP. In the meantime, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has broken the record of procurement of Paddy at MSP. The state government has procured more than 37 lakh tonnes of paddy from 5.80 lakh farmers till last Friday. But 5000 crore rupees have also been paid to the farmers. This purchase on paddy MSP has broken all the records that have been made so far.

Last year, 25.86 lakh tonnes of paddy was procured in the state, and that too was a record in itself. This time the record of last year has been shattered. In Madhya Pradesh, procurement of Paddy was started at MSP (Rs. 1,868 per quintal) at more than 1500 procurement centres from November, which has expired on 15th January. It is reported that 37 lakh tonnes of paddy was procured and it is a record of paddy procurement in the state so far.

On the one hand, rumours like the elimination of MSP in the country are spreading, and on the other hand, such news has won the hearts of all. There is only one fear in the minds of the farmers about the new agricultural law and that is the fear of the end of MSP, though all from the centre to the state government have been cleared that neither the procurement at MSP nor the Mandis will be stopped.
