Madhya Pradesh government made mandatory for all the industries to provide 70 per cent employment to locals

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief MinisterKamala Nath-led government, on Tuesday, made it mandatory for all the industries to provide 70 per cent employment to local youth.

Recently, chief minister took to Twitter to announce that state government, as promised in its manifesto, has made it mandatory for all the industries across the state, to give employment to 70 percent locals.

As per the reports, the MP government will provide incentives to companies only if 70 per cent of locals are given job.

Earlier on December 17, 2018, Kamalnath had said that his government will propose new industrial police to boost investment and generate employment for youth.

Besides MP , many other  states also follow similar industrial policy, and have reserved employment for local youth. Locals in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka enjoys 70 percent job quota.  In Gujarat, 85 per cent employment is reserved for locals if firms enjoy government incentives while, in Maharashtra, 80 per cent job is reserved for people living in the state for more than 15 years.

It may be noted that recently,  the Central Government approved 10 per cent reservation in jobs and education for economically weaker sections of general category.
