New Delhi: 'Pankh' campaign has been launched to protect women and girls on the last National Girl Child Day in Madhya Pradesh. Under this, the government has started destroying property against anti-social elements who commit criminal acts with women and daughters. But the reality is that Madhya Pradesh is the fourth largest state in the country, where girls and women are most forced to marry. They are even kidnapped and blackmailed in other ways. Talking about crime, Madhya Pradesh ranks fifth among the top five states in the country.

The data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for the year 2019 has been revealed. A total of 1626 cases were registered in the state in 2019, in which women and girls have filed kidnapping and blackmail cases for forcibly getting married. A total of 1635 women were victims in this. However, more than MP, more such cases have been reported in UP, Bihar and Assam. In the case of total crimes, Madhya Pradesh ranks fifth after Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Assam in terms of atrocities on women.

Talking about the crime situation on women in the state, a total of 29788 cases were registered in the year 2017. After this, there was a slight decline in these cases in the year 2018, in which a total of 28942 cases were registered. However, in the year 2019, there has been a decline in crimes compared to the year 2017. In the year 2019, there were 27560 cases, according to which crime cases were reduced compared to other years. However, the figures for the year 2020 are yet to come.
