Indore: A case of forced conversion has come to light in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Police on Friday registered a case against the woman and nine members of her family for allegedly beating her husband and pressurizing him to convert. The police have informed in this regard.
Giving details about the case, police said that complainant Prakash Nagle (36 years old) has alleged that he was lured to The Christian religion for Rs 50,000. When he refused to convert, his wife and in-laws also assaulted him. They also tore up all the religious books of Hinduism. Nagle said a man named Anupam has been pressurizing him to convert since February 25, 2021.
After the case came to light, Dwarkapuri police station in-charge Satish Dwivedi said, "We have registered a case against 10 persons under Sections 3 and 5 of the Religious Freedom Act, 2020. They have all been accused of rioting, forced conversions, and hurting religious sentiments".
