Bhopal: The Kamal Nath government of Madhya Pradesh will give a reward of two crore rupees to the medal winners in international tournaments. Minister of Higher Education and Sports Jitu Patwari said this while discussing the Demands for Grants of The Departmental Budget in the Assembly on Sunday. Jitu Patwari has said that for the first time in the state, the prize money has been fixed for winning medals at the Olympics, World Cup, Asian Games.

It provides for an incentive of two crore rupees for winning gold medals at the international level. In each assembly constituency, a provision has been made to give Rs 5 lakh per year to the regional MLA for the effective conduct of infrastructure and sports activities in the sports world. Jitu Patwari informed the House that it has been decided to appoint sports science experts like Psychologist, Physiologist, Physiotherapist, Dietitian etc. for the sportspersons of sports academies to perform well internationally.

Another setback to the ruling coalition ahead of the confidence vote in Karnataka

It has been decided to set up an international level football academy in Chhidwara to promote football. Similarly, the Swiss and Wrestling Academy in Indore is also being considered. Minister Patwari said that a provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for the building of an outdoor stadium in Rewa. The rowing complex at Jabalpur will be developed internationally. A grand stadium will be built at Barkheda Nathu in Bhopal.
