Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has filed 26,708 rape cases in the last four and a half years and 37 cases of murder after gang rape and 27,827 cases of kidnapping of minor girls. In fact, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra recently said this in a written reply to a question by Congress MLA Jitu Patwari in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday. Replying to patwari's question, Home Minister Narottam Mishra recently said, "In addition to 37 cases of murder after gang rape during January 2017 to June 2021, 27,827 cases of kidnapping of minor girls were registered in the state during this period.''
At the same time, he said, "In addition, 854 cases of kidnapping of women (other than minors) were registered. The north also states that 2,663 cases of murder of women have been registered in the state. These include 549 cases in 2017, 583 in 2018, 577 in 2019, 633 in 2020, and 321 cases from January to June 30 in the current year." Around 28 cases of love jihad have been registered in Madhya Pradesh in 5 months. This means that an average of 5 cases was registered every month after the law came into force. In the state, the highest number of 5 cases were registered at Indore and the lowest 1 case was registered at Shahjahanabad police station in Bhopal.
Meanwhile, 37 accused have been arrested in these cases. This information was given by the Government in the Assembly on 9th August. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Krishna Gaur asked in the House, "How many cases of love jihad and forced conversion have been registered in the state since March 2021. How many of the accused have been arrested?" Replying to this, Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said, "28 such cases have been registered. The Shivraj government had enacted the Conversion Act on January 9 in 2021. The government had enacted the Freedom of Religion Act, 2020 against love jihad within 48 hours after the governor's approval.''
