Ujjain: In preparation for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela slated for 2028 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired a meeting where significant decisions were made regarding urban transportation. The state government has decided to introduce Vande Metro trains connecting Indore and Ujjain, aimed at enhancing convenience for residents, tourists, and devotees. This initiative includes linking Indore airport to the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, facilitating seamless travel during the religious event.

Yadav mentioned that the feasibility survey for the Indore-Ujjain metro route has been completed, signaling progress towards its implementation. Additionally, discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw have led to plans for the introduction of Vande Metro Circle Trains across various cities in Madhya Pradesh. These modern metro systems are expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve urban transportation significantly.

Highlighting advancements in metro infrastructure, Yadav noted the successful trial run of the first phase of the Bhopal metro last October, with subsequent phases scheduled for completion by 2027. Construction is also underway for a 31-kilometer metro line in Indore, aimed at further enhancing public transit in the region.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the new Vande Metro trains will incorporate advanced technology and operate at higher speeds compared to traditional metro systems. This development is expected to benefit industrial areas such as Pithampur and Dewas, contributing to regional economic growth.

Overall, the decisions taken during the meeting underscore the state government's commitment to modernize transportation infrastructure ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, aiming to provide efficient metro services and ease mobility for all stakeholders.
