Bhopal: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in four districts of western Madhya Pradesh. This estimate was expressed last Saturday. Let me tell you that IMD has issued an Orange Alert in this regard. In fact, IMD has also issued two separate yellow alerts for heavy rain in 28 districts of the state with thunderstorms and lightning warnings. A recent IMD official made a statement saying, "All the three alerts are legitimate till Sunday morning.''
Recently, PK Saha, Senior Meteorologist, Bhopal Office, IMD said, "As per the orange alert, heavy to very heavy rain may occur at different places in Dhar, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Dewas districts with thundershowers.'' At the same time, Saha also said, "Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain with lightning and thundershowers at different places in 13 districts of the state, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Shivpuri, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Jhabua, Betul, Rajgarh, Narsinghpur, and Chhindwara.''
Saha also said, "In addition, a yellow alert has been issued in 15 districts of Dewas, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shajapur, Ujjain, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia, Ashok Nagar, Guna, Bhind, Agar, Ratlam, and Morena with a forecast of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at different places.''
Let me tell you all that a large part of MP has been raining intermittently for the last three days. Gwalior, Betul, Ratlam, and Bhopal city received 25.6 mm, 12 mm, 9 mm and 8.4 mm rainfall respectively between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm last Saturday. Now, Saha says, 'Monsoon Trough' is passing through the Tikamgarh and Sidhi districts of Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, the cyclonic circulation is prevailing over north-east Rajasthan and adjoining north-west Madhya Pradesh. He further said, "The availability of these two systems is bringing moisture which is causing rain in Madhya Pradesh.''
