Bhopal: The Shivraj Singh Chauhan government of Madhya Pradesh, facing financial constraints, is now going to close 51 government colleges in the state. At the same time, the colleges that have 80 per cent of students will be merged into other colleges. The government is doing this so that expenses can be cut.

According to statistics, currently, more than 500 government colleges are being operated in the state. In which thousands of students study. There are 185 colleges in the state, which have a presence of more than 80 per cent students. Whereas there are 51 colleges, which have even fewer students, so the government will merge these colleges into colleges with 80 per cent attendance. Due to this decision of the Shivraj government, the political mercury in Madhya Pradesh heats up.

Accusing the state government, Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta has targeted. He said that instead of strengthening the education system, the state government is preparing for privatization by closing colleges. On one hand, the government wants to open a college every 3 kilometres, on the other hand, it is closing 51 schools.
