God and liquor, these two words sound very strange together. Today we are going to tell you in relation to one such temple, where these two words are heard together and are also seen. In the city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, there is a tradition of offering liquor in the form of Prasad in the Kaal Bhairav temple situated on the banks of river Kshipra. The biggest feature of this temple, which is about 6000 years old, is that Lord Kaal Bhairav drinks alcohol here.

This temple is also called a Vam Margi Tantric Temple, which is unique. This temple offers wines, meat, sacrifices and currency as offerings. As soon as the wine-filled cups are placed in the temple near the mouth of Kaal Bhairav's statue, the cup of wine becomes empty on seeing it. It is said that many years ago an English officer had done a lot of digging around the idol to check this, but he got nothing and he himself became a devotee of Kaal Bhairav.

In ancient times, only tantrikas used to come here. Later this temple was opened to the general public. Gradually, the sacrificial system was also abolished at this place and liquor was offered to Lord Kaal Bhairav. No one has any details as to who started this centuries-old chain of drinking alcohol.
