Ujjain: A fire broke out at 11.30 am on Sunday morning at Patidar Hospital in Freiganj, Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. The fire brigade and police administration team arrived on the spot after the fire was reported. All the 80 patients admitted to the hospital were shifted to other hospitals face-to-face. Many of them were also corona positive.

Four scorched patients were admitted to the nearby Guru Nanak Hospital. The fire was found to be under control after nearly an hour of the day. Other items including the beds of the ICU ward of the hospital were burnt. There has been no casualty in the incident. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the fire is due to a short circuit at the place near the ICU ward. Though police say they are still investigating, there may be some other reason. Collector Ashish Singh said that all the patients have been shifted to other hospitals safely. 30 patients admitted in two wards of ICU have been sent to Rd Gardy Hospital. With this, the treatment of four scorched patients is also continuing in the fire. These patients are also out of danger.

In a tweet on the incident, CM Shivraj wrote, "Today, 80 patients were trapped in a short circuit fire at Patidar Hospital, Freiganj, Ujjain, all of which have been rescued within half an hour.  4 people are reported to have been scorched. Free treatment of the injured has been provided. The entire administration is on the spot, the situation is under control.''
