Madhya Pradesh for 28 Assembly seats, Uttar Pradesh for 7 Assembly seats and Karnataka for 2 Assembly seats are facing the by-polls today, November 3, 2020. With strict adherence to COVID-19 management protocols, the states will vote from 7 am to 6 pm. 88 candidates contest in UP, 31 candidates contest in Karnataka and 355 candidates contest in MP. In Uttar Pradesh, of the 7 seats 6 were held by the ruling BJP and one by the Samajwadi Party.

Madhya pradesh including 12 ministers 355 candidates contest for 28 seats in 19 districts and around 33,000 security personnel have been deployed for peaceful bypolls. The State administration has reportedly made all preparations to ensure free and fair polls in MP. The sources said 9,361 booths have been set up for 63.67 Lakh people to exercise their votes and out of these, 3,038 are marked  under the 'critical' category. 250 flying squads, 173 static surveillance teams, and 293 police check-posts are made. First time in the history of MP, the bypolls for 28 Assembly seats takes place in one go. By-elections are being held in 25 seats as sitting Congress MLAs resigned and joined the BJP.

MP Poll: Voting for bypolls in 28 Assembly seats begins

 They are now in the fray as BJP candidates. In UP and Karnataka the elections were necessitated due to the demise of the legislators. The vote counting will take place on November 10. In Karnataka, the 2 constituencies with a voting population of 6,78,012 including 3,26,114 women facing bypolls today and voters will cast vote from 7 am to 6 pm. The reports says 1,008 polling stations, 678 in RR Nagar and 330 in Sira, have been arranged.
