Bhopal: The cold has started catching up in Madhya Pradesh. The temperature has dropped sharply in many districts of the state including the state capital Bhopal. Fog enveloped many places in the morning. Friday night was the coldest night of this season. In Pachmarhi and Naugaon, the mercury dropped to 9 degrees. While the temperature of Bhopal was recorded at 12.8 degrees and it recorded a fall of 1.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is expected to fall further in the next two-three days. Even in Bhopal, the night temperature can fall by up to 9 degrees. According to meteorologists, another western disturbance is expected from November 29. A low-pressure area is being formed in the Bay of Bengal which may be the reason for the rise in temperature. However, it will only increase by one to two degrees above normal which is expected to bring some relief from the cold.

In the last 24 hours, light rain was recorded in Morena in western Madhya Pradesh. Balaghat in East Madhya Pradesh (23.3 mm in Khairlanji, 21.0 mm in Birsa, 15.4 mm in City, 10.4 mm in Malajkhand, 10.8 mm in Baihar, 10.0 mm in Baihar, 7.4 mm in Varasivani, 4.2 mm in Kiranpur, 3.0 mm in Tirodi,) Anuppur (Venkatnagar) Rainfall was 8.0 mm, 1.2 mm in Jaithari, Dindori (5.2 mm in Karanjia), Amarkantak 9.8 mm.
