Karti, son of former finance minister P Chidambaram, has got a big relief. Madras High Court has given this relief to Karti in the tax evasion case. After which Karti's difficulty has decreased somewhat. Please tell that the High Court stayed the proceedings against Congress MP Karti and his wife Srinidhi till an interim stay till 27 January. A case of tax evasion is pending in the lower court against Karti and Srinidhi.

Both had demanded a stay on the proceedings of the special court set up to hear matters related to MPs and MLAs. The case relates to Karti and Srinidhi for allegedly not disclosing the amount of Rs 1.35 crore received from the sale of land at Muttukadu near Chennai.

Petitions regarding the matter said that the deal was completed and an income tax return was filed in 2015, when Karti was not an MP. In September 2018, a Deputy Director of Income Tax investigation in Chennai filed a complaint against Karti and his wife under the IT Act. Later, the case was referred to the special court.
