Chennai: From January 3, the Madras High Court will no longer hold virtual hearings. According to a notification posted here, the Madras High Court will only hear matters in person beginning January 3, 2022.

This would apply to both the main seat and the Madurai bench, according to a December 27 announcement from Registrar General P Dhanabal.

"It is notified that all virtual hearings on video conferencing platform should be halted with effect from Monday, January 3, 2022, until further orders," it added. "It is made clear that, with effect from Monday, cases would only be heard in the Madras High Court (both at Principal Seat and at Madurai Bench)," it added.
