Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' was released last Friday and the film is running successfully in theaters. On the other hand, 'Darbar' was aired illegally by a local cable TV channel in Madhurai yesterday and Laika Productions complained about the same to the Madurai Police Commissioner's office, demanding action. A news portal report then confirmed that the local police in Madurai had arrested the owner of the cable TV for airing a pirated version of Rajinikanth's 'Darbar'.

According to media reports, Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' earned 150 crores worldwide at the end of its first weekend. As soon as it was released on the silver screen, the film was leaked on the Internet by TamilTrokers, but Rajinikanth's fans are watching the film in theaters.

Leica Productions has invested a huge amount of money in the film which has been released on almost 7000 screens worldwide. 'Darbar' is directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Rajinikanth and Nayanthara in lead roles, while the film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film also features Nivetha Thomas, Sunil Shetty, Yogi Babu, Dalip Tahil, Jatin Sarna and Prateek Babbar.
