The Mahabharata, directed by BR Chopra, is one of the most successful shows in Indian TV history. All the actors working in this show became superstars. Those who played negative roles many times had to face public hatred. Whatever it is, one thing that can be said is that not only did all the actors understand the Mahabharata but also worked hard for its characters. Roopa Ganguly played the role of Draupadi in this show. BR Chopra knew very well that Mahabharata would not have happened if Draupadi had not been ripped off.

Asha Negi took great care of Rithvik Dhanjani on set

Therefore, she wanted to show this incident in as real and strong a manner as possible. She first called Roopa Ganguly and explained to her that if a woman is brought to a meeting held by her hair and trying to take off all her clothes, what would be her condition, to get herself in that mood. This sequence was so powerful that it was shot in full. The makers told that the sequence of Draupadi's rip-off was so painful that Roopa Ganguly started crying while doing it.

Rithvik Dhanjani and Asha Negi married secretly?

She cried so much on the set that it took half an hour for the makers and the rest of the star cast to silence them. For the Cheer Haran scene in the film, the makers talked to the Guinness World Records and arranged for a 250-meter sari which was on the same trail. Mahabharata is being re-aired on Doordarshan's national television during lockdown. The show has once again managed to give Doordarshan a tremendous jump in the matter of TRP. Apart from Mahabharata, Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana has also been able to give Doordarshan a tremendous jump in the matter of TRP.
