Mahakal Temple: 600 artisans preparing Shiva Saga, stories related to Mahadev to be seen

Ujjain: The ongoing work near Rudrasagar is now gaining momentum with the construction of several large statues completed. Many of these statues have been installed in the Mahakal corridor and other places. More than Rs. 800 crores of work in the world-famous Mahakaleshwar temple has been going on continuously for the last year.

Statue of dancing Lord Ganesha:-

Different stories related to Mahadev are being prepared as a statue in the Mahakal corridor to be constructed under the Smart City Scheme at Mahakaleshwar Temple. 200 idols and 108 pillars of other gods including His Nandigan, Bhairava, Lord Ganesha, Parvati Mata are being erected. Artists are giving concrete shape to the work behind the Mahakal temple to show stories related to Mahadev.

There is also the chariot of Lord Krishna and Arjuna from the Battle of Mahabharata:-

In fact, the total cost of the statue being constructed in this corridor under the Smart City Scheme is estimated to be around 45 crores. They are being embodied by the people of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It is claimed that the work will be completed by the end of 2021. Ujjain District Collector Ashish Singh said that expansion works worth Rs 800 crore are underway at Mahakal temple. In the near future, devotees will reach the sanctum sanctorum of the temple through the Mahakal corridor. From where the devotees enter, the praise of Mahadev and stories related to Mahadev can be seen. After taking shape of the entire project, the complex of the Mahakal temple will also be bigger than the premises of many big temples in India.

Different deities and dance and musical arts are being carved on the pillars:-

Artists from Rajasthan, Amitabh and his 80 companions are spiritualising the corridor and Nakshatra Vatika. Another artist, Rek Singh, said that we have worked in several big cities including Golden Temple in Amritsar and Rajasthan. Now the corridor at Mahakal temple is being constructed in such a way that the visiting devotees will get to see the praise sing of Mahadev's glory. Devotees coming from outside will also be able to see the beauty around the temple.

The most attractive foot and e-rickshaw route to reach the temple through the corridor is being prepared with mural walls, shady trees and Shiva pillars. Where e-rickshaws will have to be taken on foot of 3-3 metres and 6 metres wide. From here devotees will reach Nandi Hall via the visitor facility centre.

 

Smart project features shady trees and e-rickshaws:-

Smart ticket kiosks, toilets, seating shady spaces will be developed in plazas including Mahadev themed Lotus Spot, Saptrishi Plaza, Shiva Pillar, Open Area Theatre, Green Space Area being constructed under Smart City behind Mahakal Temple. With this, devotees will connect to the Mahakal corridor through a pathway at the public plaza. Bridges at Rudra Sagar, an all-inclusive visitor facility, toilets, mobile lockers, clock rooms, smart parking, tourist information centres, public plazas on Hinduism and Vedic themes are being constructed. A variety of idols including Shivtandava, Saptarishi are being created by the artists. The statue of about 5 to 10 feet is also included by Saint Rishi Muni. Beautification of streets using architectural elements and Simhastha themed dynamic light show at Ramghat will be performed.
