Ujjain: For the past 21 months, Shiva devotees have not been able to touch the Shivlinga and offer prayers due to the corona epidemic. But now recently the Mahakal Temple Management Committee in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh has issued a new guideline. Entry to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple will start from December 6. Yes, according to the new guideline, from 6th December, the sanctum sanctorum of mahakaleshwar temple will be able to be entered by the common devotees. However, this entry will not take place up to 3 days a week.

Let me tell you that before March 2020, devotees were allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum and offer milk, water, etc. on the Shivlinga at mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. Entry to the sanctum sanctorum was stopped for the past 21 months due to corona. So far, common devotees as well as VIPs were not able to enter the sanctum sanctorum. So far, several VIPs including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have returned from Nandihal. This will not happen from 6th December.

Now, the corona restrictions have been lifted by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The number of common devotees in Bhasma Aarti was first increased and after that, from 6th December onwards, the sanctum sanctorum of Mahakaleshwar temple will also be admitted to the common devotees. Recently, Ujjain Collector Ashish Singh said, "Now, as before, entry of devotees into the sanctum sanctorum will be prohibited on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Moreover, on normal days, normal visitors will be able to enter the sanctum sanctorum as before and offer prayers.'
