It was a very shocking news that surfaced on Monday that Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) president Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead at Baghambari Mutt in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The news detailed that  Mahant Giri's body was found hanging from the ceiling by his disciples while a purported "seven-eight page" suicide note was also found in the room. A suicide note was recovered in which the name of his disciples, Anand Giri and two others were mentioned.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said that the culprit in the death of President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Mahant Narendra Giri will not be spared. He said that several pieces of evidence have been collected regarding the incident.

Following the death of the top seer, the Uttar Pardesh Police have taken one of his disciples and two pujaris into custody and launched a full-scale investigation into the matter. Several religious and political leaders, including PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, have condoled the demise of the ABAP president. Notably,  the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad is the largest organisation of sadhus (seers) in the country.
