New Delhi: The corona epidemic has caused panic all over the world, Maharashtra remains the most concern nationwide due to the growing cases of corona virus. The situation in Maharashtra has become such that 23 out of every 100 people who have undergone corona examination are now  infected, which shows the rapid spread of corona infection in the state. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Tuesday that the average weekly positivity rate of corona virus in Maharashtra has risen to 23 percent, which is the highest in the country.

After Maharashtra, Punjab is at number two with a positive rate of 8.82 per cent, followed by 8 per cent in Chhattisgarh, 7.82 per cent in Madhya Pradesh, 2.50 per cent in Tamil Nadu, 2.45 per cent in Karnataka, 2.2 per cent in Gujarat and 2.04 per cent in Delhi. According to the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, the positive rate is 5.65 percent, looking at the weekly average across the country. Due to Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the rate of positive arrival in the country after corona testing is high, the infection has not spread in other states of the country as fast as it is spreading in these states. 

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that there are 3,37,928 active cases in Maharashtra. In the second week of February, on an average there were 3,000 new cases a day. Today, 34,000 cases are coming in a day. In Maharashtra, there were 32 deaths in a single day in the second week of February, this has increased to 118. The total number of active cases in the country has increased to 5,40,720. It is over 4%. The death toll stands at 1,62,000. The recovery rate is 94%. Of the 10 cities with the highest number of active cases, 8 are from Maharashtra.
