Pune:case has come to light from Pune city of Maharashtra, in which a newborn girl has got corona infection from her mother. BJ Medical College (BJMC) and Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) have given information in this regard. Although the mother was not found coronavirus positive in the RT-PCR test, the newborn baby was found to be corona positive. Doctors say that this is the first case in the country in which an infection has passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Therefore, detailed information in this regard will be given and published in the Medical General.

Officials say that the girl has undergone treatment for three weeks and has recovered completely. The girl has been discharged from the hospital. According to the information, the 22-year-old pregnant woman gave birth to the baby girl on May 27. One day before delivery, the woman got fever and started feeling weak. 

Aarti Kiriker, head of the pediatric department of BJMC and SGH, said, 'The corona test of the mother was done and her RT-PCR test was found negative. But the child started showing symptoms, such as fever etc. The baby's nasopharyngeal swab, placenta and umbilical cord were then sent for tests, which were found to be infected with corona.
