Nagpur: An under-construction bridge collapsed near Bharat Chowk at Kalamna in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The incident is said to have taken place around 9 pm on Tuesday. However, no one was present here during this time, which averted a major accident. The bridge was being constructed from HB Town in Nagpur to Kalamna, which was being constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

According to the information, the work of the bridge was entrusted to two companies that were constructing the bridge together. But suddenly a large part of the flyover fell down during construction. There was chaos on the spot immediately after the bridge collapsed. There was fear among the people and a huge crowd gathered at the spot. Controlling that crowd was a big challenge for the police. The concern was that the rest of the bridge would not collapse. That is why the police who reached the spot were the first to remove the people from there. The movement of that area was also stopped.

The Mayor of Nagpur also rushed to the spot in the wake of the incident. Fire department vehicles also reached the spot along with them. Nagpur mayor Dayashankar Tiwari said the incident will be investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits. Well, the National Highways Authority of India constructing this bridge is also talking about its own investigation. It will be clear only after a detailed inquiry into whose level this negligence has taken place now.
