Mumbai: Maharashtra's former chief minister and Shiv Sena leader, Narayan Rane has long been speculating about joining the BJP. Rane is currently Rajya Sabha MP. Rane wants to join the BJP but his desire is not fulfilled because of the Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena has once again reacted sharply to the move. Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar said on Tuesday that adding Rane to the BJP would be like adding salt to sweet milk.

Kesarkar said that bringing Rane to the BJP is futile as he has only one MLA left. The Shiv Sena leader said that given how good the relationship between Uddhav Thackeray and the CM is right now, taking Narayan Rane to BJP would be like adding salt to sweet milk. He further said that so far the CM has taken good decisions and we hope that he will continue to do a good job. What is the use of bringing Rane to the BJP? They have only one MLA left.  Even in Congress, he did not respect leadership.

Last week, Rane had expressed his dismay with the BJP for not joining the party. Former CM Rane had said that he would decide on the dissolution of his party Maharashtra Swabhiman Party (MSP) in the next 10 days. He had reportedly claimed that BJP chief Amit Shah had already indicated to join the party. He claimed that he was waiting for the response of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Rane had been in Shiv Sena for nine months. Later, due to differences with Uddhav Thackeray, he joined the Congress in 2005.
