Comprehensive security arrangements have been made in view of the Maharashtra bandh called by the Maratha organizations on demand for reservation in government jobs and education. Due to protests from Maratha organizations, violence and arson took place in different parts of the state few days aback.
An official said that the government has deployed six companies of the Quick Task Force and one each company of Central Industrial Security Force and the State Reserve Police Force at sensitive places in view of the closure. 

He said that Homeguard personnel are also being deployed to help police at different places. Police have appealed to the workers to perform peacefully and not to take law and order in thwir hands. The police will also monitor the social media. 

State Chief Secretary DK Jain reviewed the security measures before the shutdown. He asked the officials to ensure that the suburban railway service is run smoothly and schools and other services are not affected.

It has already expresse concern over the suicide issue on Maratha reservation. Bombay High Court had asked  Maratha communty to protest patiently and asked neither Join violent acts nor suicide as take extreme step. Because, the matter is still pending in court in the court. However, the progress of the steps taken in the direction of the reservation state report is directed to introduce until 10th September. 

A division bench of the High Court Justice RV More and Justice Anujaja Prabhudesai said that considering the sensitivity of the movement for the Maratha reservation, the State Backward Commission submitted its report to the government soon after the Maratha reservation was called. It is the legal obligation of the government to decide on this report. They expect the commission to complete its work within two months.
