Mumbai: A criminal complaint filed at Ghatkopar police station against the BJP leader in Maharashtra claimed that "Pravin Y. Darekar, leader of opposition in the Legislative Council, is a millionaire labourer who has allegedly denied his professional credentials in his election affidavits.'' Under the information received, complainant Vasantrao Naik, Chairman, Krishi Swavalamban Mission (VNSSM), Kishore Tiwari, who has the status of Minister of State, has asked Darekar some uncomfortable questions.

Let me tell all of you that from 2009-2014, former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) MLA Darekar is currently the BJP MLC since 2016, who has been appointed leader of the Opposition of the Upper House in 2019. At the same time, he has also been shown as the Chairman of Mumbai District Central Cooperative Bank (MDCCB). Mumbai Bank, which includes categories of representatives of registered cooperative societies. In the police complaint, Tiwari said, "Darekar is said to be a member of the Labour Cooperative Society Pledge Mazur Cooperative Society (PMSS) Ghatkopar, on the basis of which he is represented as the director of Mumbai Bank as full-time chairman since 2015.''

Tiwari also argued, "However, in his statutory affidavits in Form 26 for two elections, Darekar has mentioned his profession on oath as the independent business of his wife Sally Darekar.'' Tiwari also said, "This is clearly a false misleading declaration on the basis of which he was elected to the House on both occasions. He is cheating the Government through full salary, allowances, and honorarium privileges.''

You all must be aware that the farmer face of Shiv Sena has accused Darekar of pretending to be a labourer. Not only that, his wife, one of his brothers has also been declared a labourer.
