Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Saturday that the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme has been extended until September 30. Speaking at a campaign event for the scheme, CM Shinde criticized the opposition for failing to fulfill their promises after the elections.

"My Laadli sisters, your enthusiasm confirms the success of our scheme. I'm pleased to announce that the deadline for receiving benefits under our Laadli scheme has been extended until September 30. Those who have not yet received the funds will have another opportunity. Despite attempts to create obstacles, no one can stop this scheme," Shinde declared. He emphasized the significance of the financial assistance provided by the scheme, stating, "Those living in wealth may not understand the true value of Rs 1,500. But this amount holds great significance for my poor mothers and sisters. As a son of a farmer, I have experienced hardships firsthand."

CM Shinde further asserted that his government stands by its commitments. "Unlike others who forget their promises once the elections are over, we fulfill ours. When we make a commitment, we follow through. As Balasaheb used to say, 'Either don't give promises, but if you do, fulfill them at any cost,'" he said. The Chief Minister expressed his vision for the future, stating, "Our goal goes beyond Rs 1,500. We want to see our sisters become millionaires. As our Prime Minister says, 'If women are empowered, the nation becomes empowered.'"

Launched on August 17, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana aims to provide financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to women aged 21-65 with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh, empowering them to become more independent and self-reliant.
