Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis yesterday attacked NCP Chief Sharad Pawar's claim that BJP leaders were trying to favour members of other parties. He said NCP chief Pawar should introspect on why people are leaving his party.
Earlier in the day, Sharad Pawar had said in Pune that CM Fadnavis and his ministers were trying to bring opposition leaders in their favour by misusing the investigating agencies and government financial boards ahead of the assembly polls. CM Fadnavis said the BJP "doesn't run after anybody" as the people of the country are with the leadership of the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In reply to a question on Sharad Pawar's statement, CM Fadnavis said, "Sharad Pawar should introspect as to why his party people are not ready to continue in the NCP." "The BJP's stand is very clear. A large number of Congress and NCP leaders are ready to join the BJP. But very little will be included.
Those who are facing ED cases will not be included in the party. We don't need such people. "CM Fadnavis said that BJP need not pressurise anyone to join him. "We don't run after anybody. Now people run after the BJP. We take care of people who are good and work for the people. ''
Fadnavis claimed that he wanted to remind the NCP chief that many of his party leaders were assisted by the government of several Chinese factories and state banks when they were in difficulty. In this situation, we never asked him to join the party. They should introspect.
