Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray last Monday ignored questions related to the controversy over allegations levelled by his cabinet colleague Nawab Malik against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) regional director Sameer Wankhede. In fact, when asked about Nawab Malik's allegations against former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis over his alleged links with drug traffickers, he said in no uncertain terms, "The allegations have changed. Let's see what happens.''

Earlier, Nawab Malik had tweeted a picture of an alleged drug smuggler with Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amrita. Seeing this, Devendra Fadnavis said, "Malik's tweet reflects his mindset and claimed that he will "bomb" after Diwali by making revelations about the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) minister's 'underworld link'.'' In an informal interaction with media persons ahead of Diwali, Chief Minister Thackeray refused to comment on political issues and questions related to Malik's allegations against Wankhede.

Talking about the status of the corona virus in the state, he said, "The pace of vaccination has slowed down. More awareness is necessary to accelerate the vaccination drive. The third wave is yet to be predicted. It depends on the changes in new formats and viruses. Thackeray, who is leading a three-party coalition government in the state, will complete two years in office later this month.'' At the same time, he also said, "Even after becoming the Chief Minister, he has not changed.''

At the same time, without naming the BJP, the main opposition party in the state, he said, "I want to know what great work the people sitting in the ministry have done?"
