Mumbai: A major piece of information is emerging from Maharashtra, which is suffering from corona infection. Meanwhile, four staff of State Home Minister Dilip Valse Patil have also been found corona positive. Amidst all this, speculation of lockdown in the state is constantly gaining air. In Maharashtra, 36,625 new corona cases have been reported on Thursday. At the same time, 79 cases have also been reported against Omicron. While 13 persons have died. There are 1 lakh 14 thousand 847 active cases of corona in the state.

BMC said more than 5,015 cases have been reported on Thursday as compared to Wednesday while four patients have lost their lives. Mumbai remains in the state a corona hotspot. 20,181 new corona cases have been reported here on Thursday. Out of the 79 new cases of Omicron that have been reported, 57 are from Mumbai alone. The number of omicron infected people in the state has gone up to 876. Out of which 381 people have recovered after treatment.

On the other hand, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had said that if more than 20,000 cases are reported in the metropolis, a lockdown will have to be imposed. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope had said that the final decision on the lockdown will be taken by Chief Minister Uddhav.
