Mumbai: With only two days left in the vaccination programme starting may 1, 2021, Maharashtra still does not have a single vote and there is a constant difference of opinion in the state over the vaccination programme. Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Tuesday (April 27) said that the final decision on free immunization of people above the age of 18 years in the state will be taken by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Talking to the media, Pawar said, "I have proposed free vaccination but it will be decided by the Chief Minister. The global tender for vaccine procurement will be brainstormed at a cabinet meeting tomorrow (April 28). Now that only 2 days are left for vaccination to start for people above the age of 18 years across the country, the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government of Maharashtra is yet to take any concrete decision. A decision on this will be taken today".

Shiv Sena youth leader and Maharashtra Minister Aditya Thackeray took to Twitter on April 25 to inform that the Maharashtra government has decided to provide free vaccines to the people of the state. Aditya Thackeray said that this decision is based on our duty to the state which we consider to be of utmost importance.
