Maharashtra coronavirus death toll crosses one lakh

Mumbai: The second wave of corona is now receding but it has devastated Maharashtra the most. The death toll due to the epidemic has crossed 1 lakh. In fact, the deaths here are equal to 30 per cent of the total corona deaths in the country. This means that maharashtra alone contributes about 30 per cent of all corona deaths in the country. Last Thursday, 650 new deaths were filed from corona in Maharashtra. Now the figure here has crossed one lakh. This includes more than 2,800 deaths which the state has named deaths due to other diseases.

Similarly, if we look at the official figures, 100,233 people have lost their lives so far due to corona virus in the state till last Thursday. Half of these deaths are said to have taken place after February 15, half of the second wave of corona. Let me also tell you that Maharashtra continues to contribute to more than 20 per cent of the deaths from across the country. In all, the state accounts for about 30 per cent of more than 3.4 lakh corona virus related deaths in India so far.

This ratio remains almost stable during the epidemic. According to information received so far, Mumbai and Pune are in the worst shape than corona. In fact, Mumbai and Pune have recorded the highest number of corona deaths.
