In the meantime, the people serving sentences in jails will get the best hotel-like food. Arrangements will be made for chicken and energy bars with delicious dishes like restaurants. Prisoners will not be able to complain about the food. This was reported by Sunil Ramanand, Additional Director General, Maharashtra Jail.

Addressing reporters in Pune, Maharashtra, Sunil Ramanand said that Mumbai's Arthur Road jail is proposed to be multi-story in the near future. He said that in jails across the state, care is also taken to ensure that prisoners get good food along with their health. He said that this is the reason why 53 prisoners ready to be released on parole in jails are refusing to go out. These prisoners have to say that the jail administration takes more care of the prisoners than the house.

At the same time, Sunil Ramanand said that in the first wave of Corona, 60 jails in the state had more than 152 percent prisoners. So far, 4243 prisoners have been infected due to corona and out of these 4157 have recovered. During the Corona period, 13,115 prisoners were allowed to go home on parole, which has reduced the number of prisoners. He said there were 9 jails in the state where total lockdown was carried out. After which the administration temporarily opened the jail and started corona centers. The advantage of all this is that now there are only 73 active cases in jails.
