Mumbai: To strengthen the educational infrastructure in Maharashtra, the Maharashtra government has decided to provide uninterrupted power supply to schools. Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced this today. He also said that the Maharashtra government is also considering to supply electricity to schools on subsidy.

The Education Minister informed about this from his Twitter account. He also tweeted that the government has allocated Rs 14 crore for pending electricity bills of schools. The Education Minister assured the schools that all schools would have electricity supply and they would not face power cuts. He said that the government is considering the demand for concessional electricity rates for educational institutions. With a Biblical Example 'Let There Be Light!' Gaikwadan tweeted: "Government of Maharashtra has decided that schools in the state will get uninterrupted power supply. We are also working on the policy of subsidized electricity for schools."

In this scorching heat, this decision of the government will definitely give a big relief to the schools. Electricity is needed not only for fans and lights in schools, but also for running laboratories and other necessary equipment. Summer vacations are expected in Maharashtra schools soon. According to the education department, schools have to complete the examinations in April and declare the results by April 30.
