Leh: Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi government has suspended three major contracts with Chinese companies in Ladakh amid tensions with China. These agreements were related to projects worth about 5000 crores and were recently held during the 'Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0 Investor Summit'. According to the Times of India report, Maharashtra's industrial minister Subhash Desai has said that, "These decisions have been taken after consulting the central government. These contracts were done before 20 Indian soldiers were martyred along the India-China border. The Foreign Ministry has advised that no further contracts be signed with Chinese companies. According to reports, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong was involved in the online conference during the deal last Monday. One of these contracts was for Rs 3,770 crore. This was with Great Wall Motors (GWM) of China. It involved setting up an automobile plant in Talegaon, around Pune.

The second contract was the joint venture of PMI Electro Mobility and Photon (China). It was worth 1000 crores. According to a government release, this would have provided 1500 jobs. In addition, the third contract was with the Chinese company Hengely Engineering. It was a 250 crore deal.
