Maharashtra: Mumbai to receive heavy rain from June 9, alert issued

Mumbai: The Bay of Bengal is likely to be in a tizzy this week. The Met department has recently said that the northern part of the Bay of Bengal could become a low pressure zone and it could have a direct impact on West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand. Moreover, madhya pradesh is also affected by cyclonic winds these days and the impact is likely to be visible in Marathwada, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. In addition, the Met department has predicted heavy rain in Mumbai and other coastal areas of the state in Maharashtra this week.

In fact, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Mumbai says that the weather in the region may worsen in the next 5 days. It is also being said that the ghat areas of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra are likely to receive more than 9th June rainfall. In view of this, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the state administration to be ready to deal with any untoward incident. He has directed the State Administration to take the people living in low lying places, damaged buildings and landslides to safer places.

The chief minister asked the guardian ministers to hold a meeting with the district disaster management authorities. Also inform you that heavy rain is forecast between 9th June and 12th June in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Konkan region. In view of this, the State Government has made all arrangements and now the Government is ready to face any untoward incident.
